Assistant Engineer

Responsibilities

• Learn how to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
• Build skills to follow and be responsive to project budgets and schedules; learn to identify departures from the project’s defined scope of work.
• Coordinate all design work with other team disciplines.
• Increase proficiency in relevant design, modeling, and pole-loading software applications such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, or Cymcap , as well as business applications including Microsoft Office.
• Design, manage plan production by staff, and assist in production of construction documents, including plans, specifications, calculations, and quantity takeoffs.
• Interpret and apply client, company, and field standards as needed.
• Knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
• Knowledge of appropriate electrical, building mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Collaborate with teams on many different types of projects that develop service line expertise: Gas Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as Civil or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree in an appropriate field - Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering. (Preferred)
• EIT license (Preferred)
• 1+ years of experience with appropriate design, engineering, and modeling software application such as Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Electrical Design Suite; MicroStation with Substation or Plant add-in, ETAP, SKM, MFAD, LPILE, or Cymcap , as well as some knowledge of PLS-CADD.

Pay

The pay range for this California position is $40.00- $42.50 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
