Assistant Electrical Superintendent

About the role
This position supports day-to-day operations on construction sites and helps manage the schedule of construction projects. The Assistant Electrical Superintendent will direct and coordinate field activities, ensure work is completed safely and productively, review project documents and drawings, monitor work quality, and support project leadership in keeping work on schedule. Ideal for a skilled electrical field leader with strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to coach and guide teammates in an active construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate the work activities of assigned trade/craft workers, including assigning workers to specific duties
- Follow directions from project supervision and assign workers to specific tasks
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for area of installation
- Review and release Shop Drawings and Spool Drawings for timely field installation
- Inspect work in process and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications
- Ensure teammates participate in Predictive reporting; audit 5X5’s and pretask plans for compliance
- Schedule material and equipment deliveries to maintain project schedule
- Attend project meetings as required
- Complete daily reports, upload photos, and locate necessary documents
- Teach, coach, and guide teammates to ensure safe and productive work
- Act in the interest of the Company, using independent judgment to oversee site teammates, including recommending hires, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions
Requirements
- State Journeyman card or Master’s License
- Knowledge of current NEC Code and OSHA safety regulations
- Industry experience in the same field or 10 years’ experience working as an Electrician
- Ability to read trade-specific blueprints and technical diagrams
- Experience handling personnel issues
- OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to obtain Competent Person certifications
- Ability to handle day-to-day tasks relating to work assignments and asset management
- Ability to read and understand project-related documents in English
- Proficiency with current technology (e.g., laptop, tablet, smartphone, Microsoft Teams, Procore, BIM)
- Foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions
- Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
