We are looking for an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support project teams in creating world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across a variety of sectors, including power, process, corporate, healthcare, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, adapting plans to meet budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.
- Modify and review production drawings for projects such as power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, governmental, and military facilities.
- Design electrical components based on project requirements set forth by project managers.
- Apply basic knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
- Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
- Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers using multiple CAD-related software.
- Assist with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for various facility designs.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of standard electrical engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and electrical analysis programs (e.g., RISA), AutoCAD, BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla).
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Involvement on campus or in the community is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located without requiring work sponsorship.
