Assistant Editor Internship
About the role
We are looking for an Assistant Editor Intern to join our Film and TV post production team for a hands-on educational training internship focused on professional editorial support workflows. This internship is designed for students interested in post production, editing, media management, and assistant editor work.
Responsibilities
- Learn professional post production workflows from ingest through delivery
- Aid with media ingest and project organization within a training environment
- Learn proper folder structures and file naming conventions
- Create footage stringouts for review
- Help prepare ingest reports and track project assets
- Support Frame.io dailies upload and review workflows
- Learn basic prep steps for color, mix, exports, and deliverables
- Support QC and project wrap/archive workflows
- Follow internal post production processes and checklists
- Communicate clearly when questions or issues come up
- Participate in check-ins, feedback sessions, and workflow reviews
Qualifications
- Current student studying film, media, production, editing, communications, or a related field
- Interest in post production and assistant editor workflows
- Basic familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Comfortable following technical instructions and checklists
- Good communication and follow-through
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive feedback
- Ability to maintain confidentiality around client and project materials
Time Commitment
10–15 hours per week preferred, with some flexibility based on school credit requirements and student availability. The internship will be structured around a defined semester or training period and will take student academic schedules into consideration.
About The Opportunity
This internship is intended to give students a practical understanding of how assistant editors support professional post production teams. The goal is to help interns build foundational AE skills, understand real-world post workflows, and gain experience in a supervised, training-focused environment.
