About the role
This leadership position supports the nursing department in a skilled long-term care community, assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) with planning, organizing, and directing nursing services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct rounds to monitor the quality of resident care
- Enforce nursing policies and procedures
- Coach and mentor registered nurses (RNs)
- Manage administrative tasks related to nursing services
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of care
- Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Foster a team-oriented and collaborative work environment
Requirements
- Valid RN license
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards
- Commitment to compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care
