Assistant DON (ADON) - RN

About the role

This leadership position supports the nursing department in a skilled long-term care community, assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) with planning, organizing, and directing nursing services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds to monitor the quality of resident care
• Enforce nursing policies and procedures
• Coach and mentor registered nurses (RNs)
• Manage administrative tasks related to nursing services
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of care
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Foster a team-oriented and collaborative work environment

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Current CPR certification
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards
• Commitment to compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care
