Assistant District Attorney (Financial Crimes)
About the role
The Putnam County District Attorney's Office seeks an Assistant District Attorney (Financial Crimes) who will prosecute financial and economic crimes.
Responsibilities
- Engage in complex and long-term financial crime investigations
- Work with local police agencies to issue legal process (subpoenas, warrants, etc.)
- Handle a financial crimes felony caseload
- Prosecute felony or misdemeanor cases in assigned local courts, including preliminary proceedings, discovery practice, motion practice, grand jury presentations, pretrial hearings, trials, and sentencing
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in New York State
- United States citizenship
- Residency in Putnam County or a contiguous county within New York State
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Criminal Procedure Law and Penal Law
- Ability to analyze, appraise, and apply legal principles, facts, and precedents to cases
- Ability to review and analyze large amounts of financial and technical documentation
- Experience in criminal prosecution, preferably with at least three years of experience in prosecuting financial crimes

Pay
$105,000 starting salary
Schedule
Full-time, Monday – Friday
