Assistant Director Stewardship and Annual Giving
About the role
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving & Stewardship is responsible for leading and growing annual giving initiatives, planning and executing the university's signature 24-hour giving campaign, and designing comprehensive donor stewardship strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow annual giving initiatives, including management of the DMU Fund, to achieve annual fundraising goals and expand donor participation.
- Plan and execute One Day for DMU, the university's signature 24-hour giving campaign, driving engagement and philanthropic support across the DMU community.
- Develop and implement comprehensive donor stewardship strategies that recognize, retain, and strengthen relationships with alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the university.
- Create impactful donor communications, reports, and recognition programs that effectively demonstrate the value and outcomes of philanthropic investments.
- Collaborate with Development & Alumni Relations colleagues to cultivate a culture of philanthropy, enhance donor experiences, and advance DMU’s mission of educating future healthcare leaders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. 1-3 years experience in development or alumni relations.
Qualifications
Passionate, relationship-driven fundraising professional with a track record of success in annual giving and donor stewardship. Excellent communication skills and ability to tell compelling stories about the impact of giving. Strong organizational and project management skills. Proficiency in donor relationship management software.
Skills
Strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and execute successful fundraising campaigns. Creative problem solver with a focus on donor engagement and retention. Skilled in donor stewardship, including recognition, appreciation, and communication. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The anticipated salary is up to $65,000, commensurate with experience.
