About the role
The Assistant Director supervises, and directs activities related to the Office of Partnership Districts (OPD) as assigned by the Director of OPD. This position includes supporting the MDE’s implementation of Michigan's Top 10 Strategic Education Plan; articulating and enacting an overall strategic vision for the MDE's approach to increase academic achievement for students in low-performing schools, and districts assigned to a partnership agreement by the superintendent of public instruction.
Responsibilities
- Supporting all districts with low performing schools that have entered into partnership agreements with the state and with their local Intermediate School District and/or local partners.
- Developing supports for Partnership Districts.
- Aiding in the development of the Partnership Agreement.
- Reducing and/or removing barriers to success for each district/school.
- Providing technical assistance when appropriate.
- Identifying and connecting new partners with the district/school.
- Providing direct support and technical assistance to their assigned Partnership District.
Requirements
