Responsibilities
- Provide expert oversight and drive compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards set forth by CMS and AORN.
- Support positive patient and employee engagement.
- Work with the nurse educator to ensure current best practices are in use.
- Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, including upholding strict sterile techniques and optimal room efficiency to promote quality care and patient safety.
- Maintain high visibility on the unit and function as a clinical resource and role model for staff.
- Participate in hiring and evaluating staff.
- Cover duties in the operating room, including working during surgical cases and running the desk as needed.
- Engage in quality improvement work and ensure Magnet standards are met.
Requirements
- Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- BSN or equivalent experience.
- Charge Nurse experience.
- Must complete a minimum of 8 hours per year of professional development focused on hospital-wide leadership issues.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- CNOR certification preferred or required within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSN from an accredited school.
- Leadership experience.
Pay
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $127,500.00 - $165,800.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
