Responsibilities

• Provide expert oversight and drive compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards set forth by CMS and AORN.
• Support positive patient and employee engagement.
• Work with the nurse educator to ensure current best practices are in use.
• Ensure adherence to surgical protocols, including upholding strict sterile techniques and optimal room efficiency to promote quality care and patient safety.
• Maintain high visibility on the unit and function as a clinical resource and role model for staff.
• Participate in hiring and evaluating staff.
• Cover duties in the operating room, including working during surgical cases and running the desk as needed.
• Engage in quality improvement work and ensure Magnet standards are met.

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• BSN or equivalent experience.
• Charge Nurse experience.
• Must complete a minimum of 8 hours per year of professional development focused on hospital-wide leadership issues.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• CNOR certification preferred or required within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• MSN from an accredited school.
• Leadership experience.

Pay

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $127,500.00 - $165,800.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
