About the role
NTTA is seeking an accomplished and collaborative leader to oversee Traffic Engineering, Incident Management, Traffic Safety Initiatives, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) programs while developing high-performing teams and advancing operational excellence. The Assistant Director of Traffic & Incident Management will serve as a key member of the department’s leadership team and may act on behalf of the Director of Traffic & Incident Management.
Responsibilities
- Lead traffic engineering and operations for NTTA’s toll road network, ensuring safe and efficient mobility across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
- Oversee incident management, roadway safety initiatives, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) deployment.
- Develop and motivate high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Manage traffic-related risk mitigation activities throughout NTTA’s transportation network.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and operations.
- Proven leadership in incident management, roadway safety, and ITS programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one in Texas is a plus.
Pay
$176,803–$238,685, depending on experience and qualifications.
