Responsibilities

• Provides occupational therapy treatments consistent with the professional and ethical standards of the A.O.T.A. for the Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Supervises the rehabilitation department in the absence of the Director of Therapy.
• Provides documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care, and reimbursement guidelines.
• Collaborates with other disciplines (PT, OT, SLP) for effective total patient care.
• Provides leadership and direction to interdisciplinary team for patient discharge planning, following Medicare guidelines.
• Strong written and communication skills to develop reports, correspondence, and analysis.
• Strong verbal communication skills to educate, influence and support rehabilitation staff and other disciplines.
• Ability to understand and react effectively to the needs of the various clinical age populations significant to everyday practice, evidenced through academic/clinical education and training and/or experience.
• Able to exercise mature judgment and initiative in analyzing problems and recommending solutions to provide effective rehabilitation services.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapist program.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing or Post-Acute Rehabilitation Facility.
• Able to exercise mature judgment and initiative in analyzing problems and recommending solutions to provide effective rehabilitation services.
