About the role
The Assistant Director of Sales plays a key role in driving revenue, building lasting client relationships, and supporting the continued growth and success of the Hiltons on Canyon, a dual-branded property in Boulder, Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Develops new accounts and grows current hotel accounts in a profitable and win-win selling approach.
- Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals.
- Targets appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program.
- Makes sales calls using own reliable transportation and valid state driver’s license.
- Maximizes current hotel key accounts and captures competitor's accounts through networking, research, and reader board surveys.
- Plans and implements an ongoing Targeted Account Development "hit list" to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts.
- TARGETS new business through telemarketing, individual creativity, and innovation.
- Utilizes yield management techniques to profitably negotiate room rates and function space commitments.
- Maintains a well-documented, accurate, organized, and up-to-date file management system.
- Develops strong customer relations through frequent communication and professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interaction.
- Conducts research, surveys, personal investigations, and studies the market place and territory to effectively capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitor's weaknesses and capabilities.
- Focuses on revenue-producing activity and maximizes selling time by dedicating a minimum 90% work time on direct sales efforts.
- Controls expenses including travel on the property's behalf to minimize hotel costs.
- Represents themselves, the hotel, and Sage Hospitality Resources with the highest level of integrity.
- Works on more than one task at a time, develops strong internal and customer relationships, sets and manages priorities, plans activities in advance, solves problems, and makes sound business decisions.
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of hotel sales experience.
- Knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills.
- Effective business writing skills.
- Dexterity/mobility to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, attend functions, climb stairs, and operate basic office equipment.
- Vision to read fine print and computer screens, to see colors, and to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions.
Qualifications
