Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in formulating, determining major questions, problems, planning and policy issues affecting the planning, development, implementation of programmatic designs for health care settings and programs.
  • Affords assistance to the Director in coordinating and evaluating activities, projects, programs.
  • Develops the programmatic structures of the planning process; advises on the progress of planning activities for new health care programs from formulation and planning design through implementation of health care programs until the program becomes operational.
  • Identifies issues, develops, initiates analytical, quantitative models; provides the application of appropriate analytical methods and techniques.
  • Provides consultative services to operations, health care settings, other cost groups as needed in regard to methodology for planning, development of programs, evaluation and specific health care programs.
  • Acts as a liaison for various System-wide divisions, planning agencies, Governmental bureaus, Federal, State, City, and affiliated health care settings to address issues impacting the progress of planning activities, proposing solutions, anticipating potential challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Science, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine in Public Health or a related discipline; and, Two (2) years of planning, design and program development experience pertaining to the operation of a major segment or all of a hospital or health care setting including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs, health care planning, design and program implementation functions; one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible level administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in coordinating health care planning, design, development or public policy programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospital Administration, Social Sciences, Management, Health Care Administration or a related discipline; and, Three (3) years of experience as described in “2” above; two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible level of administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in coordinating health care planning, design, development and public policy programs.
