About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist the Director of Nursing to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the facility's nursing department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing services by planning, implementing, and evaluating the care plan of each resident to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care with the integration of resident rights.
  • Oversee the residents' dignity and right to privacy are upheld.
  • Ensure there is adequate staff in number and ability to maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing for each resident that meets the state and federal guidelines.
  • Keep the facility in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations and that resident and staff information is made available only according to the state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and evaluate with the healthcare team and Executive Director, resident care goals and policies in order to assure that adequate resources and services are provided to residents, reviews logs and medical records on an ongoing basis ensuring the highest practicable care is being delivered.
  • Keep the department on budget and ensure conformance with standards of quality care, keeping the Executive Director up to date on budget concerns.
  • Mentor and train new and current staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to facility's programs, policies, and procedures and hold staff accountable for duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in good standing.
  • CPR with BLS.
  • A minimum of two years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems, and pharmacies.

Qualifications

  • Experience with medication administration, delivery systems, and pharmacies.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local standards and regulations governing nursing operations.
  • Ability to mentor and train staff effectively.

Skills

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources.
  • Knowledge of geriatric nursing practices and policies.

Pay

$55-$60 an hour based on experience.

Schedule

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
