About the role
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the clinical operations of Cedarhurst Senior Living, ensuring residents receive high-quality care aligned with physician directives, regulatory standards, and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist Director of Nursing with defining and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
- Oversight of medications, treatments, and nursing services.
- Development and maintenance of in-service education programs.
- Daily rounds to monitor nursing care.
- Participation in community management team.
- Audits and completes nursing duties.
- Oversight of pharmacy and community relationships.
- Supervision and monitoring of medications.
- Interim documentation and attendance at interdisciplinary meetings.
- Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and retains a resident care team.
- Promotes resident wellbeing and ensures effective communication with families.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and resolves conflicts.
Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an accredited school.
- Current state license as LPN or RN.
- 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and BLS certification preferred.
- Knowledge of person-directed care practices for seniors, including dementia.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
