Responsibilities
- Assist the DON in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices and protocols.
- Maintain high-quality care by monitoring resident health and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate nursing staff to foster a positive work environment.
- Address and resolve resident and family concerns related to nursing care.
- Participate in care conferences and communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations and ensure facility adherence.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and surveys, addressing identified issues promptly.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and facility performance.
- Analyze clinical data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage nursing documentation and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license for Lincoln; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 3 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required, and certification in Gerontology or related fields preferred.
