Responsibilities

  • Assist the DON in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices and protocols.
  • Maintain high-quality care by monitoring resident health and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate nursing staff to foster a positive work environment.
  • Address and resolve resident and family concerns related to nursing care.
  • Participate in care conferences and communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Stay updated on healthcare regulations and ensure facility adherence.
  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and surveys, addressing identified issues promptly.
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and facility performance.
  • Analyze clinical data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage nursing documentation and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license for Lincoln; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • 3 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required, and certification in Gerontology or related fields preferred.
