About the role
Edgerton Care Center is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in documentation
- Infection Control Program Leader
- Knowledge of nursing principles and professional standards of nursing practice
- Demonstrated competency in clinical skills for facility resident population
- Demonstrated competency in physical, behavioral, and functional capacity assessment of long-term care residents
- Sufficient organizational and interpersonal skills to train, assign, motivate staff, elicit work output, improve quality, and interact effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, administration, government officials, consultants, and others
- Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient/resident and their clinical condition
- Evaluates patient/resident responses to medications
- Observant for significant changes in resident's condition and communicates this to the IDT for the purpose of ensuring quality care
- Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility information
- Handles multiple priorities and directs and evaluates the activities of others
- Moves freely through the building to ensure resident safety and assist in emergencies
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing
- Minimum one year nursing experience providing direct care in long-term care setting
- Competent in leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively, professionally, and positively with all residents, staff, and other healthcare providers, families, and the public
- CPR certified
- English literate and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
