About the role

In this role, the Assistant Director of Lasorda Legacy Academy will gain extensive experience working with youth by providing basic sports strategies and demonstrating strong communication skills. This position ensures all youth team members enjoy an engaging and uplifting sporting experience. You will report to the Director of Lasorda Legacy Academy and interact with personnel at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Financial
  • Create, monitor, and execute the financial budgets of each program.
  • Oversee player registration and fee collection of programs.
• Business Development
  • Work alongside the SVP of Facilities and Events, Director of Lasorda Legacy Academy, and Marketing and Communications Office to plan, implement, and execute all sales, marketing, and advertising campaigns for the indoor facility.
  • Devise new methods to market programs to reach new potential clubs and players.
  • Implement and execute plans to grow current programs and reach new clubs and players within the region.
  • Identify coaches that align with Steel Sports’ culture.
  • Follow the Social Impact Office's recommended social impact plan for the local area.
  • Develop a strategic short, medium, and long-term plan for Steel Sports programs at Lasorda Legacy Academy.
  • Communicate specific programs directly to all families.
• Logistics
  • Oversee all camps, clinics, and lessons at the Indoor Facility, Lasorda Legacy Academy.
  • Oversee Baseball, Softball, and Multi-Sports programs.
  • Establish best practices across all programs.
  • Participate in weekly Facility and Events Department calls.
  • Create yearly schedules, determine logistics, and sell and execute all programs.
  • Provide customer service to all customers.
  • Work with regional staff to ensure positive on- and off-field results for each program.
  • Maintain all communications at the park, including website, social media, and emails.
  • Evaluate each program (e.g., debrief) to determine best practices and improvements.
  • Utilize universal operational materials, including financial templates, marketing templates, social media templates, Steel Sports language, and waivers.
  • Oversee equipment needs for programs and coordinate ordering with the Director of Lasorda Legacy Academy.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
