About the Role
Our client, a respected academic institution, is seeking an Assistant Director of Family Engagement to strengthen relationships between families, volunteers, and the school community. In this role, you will coordinate events and programs, become a key liaison for communication and volunteer involvement, and lead overall engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for family constituents
- Plan and execute a variety of family-focused events and community programs
- Recruit, coordinate, and support a large network of volunteers
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop communications and engagement initiatives
- Track event budgets, participation, and program effectiveness
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming community experience
- Support broader fundraising and community-building efforts
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a nonprofit, school, education, or community engagement setting
- Demonstrated success managing volunteers and coordinating events
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong diplomacy and relationship-building abilities
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor database systems
- Thoughtful, service-oriented approach when working with diverse stakeholders
