About the role
The Assistant Director of Development Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the $30 million annual fundraising program of the Community Foodbank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). They are responsible for overseeing all development operations and controls, leading the Donor Services team, and ensuring efficient and effective use of CRM systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, govern, and continuously improve core operational systems supporting Donor Services.
- Lead the Donor Services team in setting up, using, and maintaining CRM systems, ensuring all donations are properly input and acknowledged.
- Establish and enforce centralized standards, workflows, and controls for development operations, including gift processing, acknowledgements, reporting, and data requests.
- Understand and analyze various platforms to ensure alignment and best practices in gift processing.
- Serve as the primary liaison to Finance for Development team, focusing on financial reconciliation, reporting, system/data integrity, and process.
- Work with CRM Specialist to define training priorities, system standards, and upgrade requirements.
- Set and enforce data quality standards and oversight processes for donor and gift records, in partnership with the Manager of Data & Analytics.
- Develop revenue reporting and analytics that support fundraising strategy, forecasting, and executive decision-making.
- Work closely with outside vendors for direct response, caging/gift acknowledgement, and telemarketing.
- Maintain departmental expense budget and participate in annual development projections.
- Manage and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in a non-profit/development environment.
- 5-8 years of experience working with Salesforce in a development or revenue operations context, including database administration, data hygiene, and system integrations.
- 2-3 years experience managing a team.
- Extensive experience with Salesforce and third-party platforms (e.g., GoFundMe Pro, Fundraise Up), including integrations and data flows.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and connection to fundraising and financial platforms.
- Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, or internal reviews related to fundraising revenue and donor data.
- Understanding of the critical role of data and systems in informed decision-making and uses CRM insights to sharpen donor targeting and drive increased fundraising results.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel and Word.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external constituents.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $83,400-$112,800. The final rate may be influenced by factors such as the position's scope and responsibilities, work experience, training, job-related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
