Assistant Director of Admissions Events
Job Duties
Coordinates and plans admissions recruitment and enrollment events. Coordinates event logistics and adheres to budget guidelines. Collect survey data for each event and provides a written evaluation for program improvement.
Manages and plans the department's online events as well as the virtual tour platforms. Works with internal and external constituents to implement new virtual event ideas.
Develops and implements admissions/enrollment recruitment activities within assigned territory, which includes attending college fairs, high school visits, workshops, panels, and other recruitment events. Enters recruitment trip, student inquiries, and evaluation information into CRM. Completes all travel paperwork in compliance with University and office policy.
Reviews and makes decisions on applications utilizing established criteria and guidelines. Provides ongoing contact with assigned applicant pool to ensure file completion, acceptance, and enrollment.
Builds relationships and personalizes the admissions process for students, parents, and school counselors. This includes individual communication and/or updates via note writing, email, text, and/or phone calls.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and experience in admissions/student recruitment in a college/university setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience in admissions/student recruitment in a college/university setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Sensitivity to the needs of all prospective students and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and counselors.
- Ability to analyze admissions documents to make application decisions, perform detailed work, and handle confidential student matters.
- Ability to use an admissions student information system and basic computer software to update and carry out the details of student recruitment activities.
- Must be a team player and able to multi-task.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and demonstrated leadership/supervisory capabilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with professional staff across campus.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
