Assistant Director, Health Care Programs

Open to all applicants. Full-time exempt staff position.

About the Role

The Assistant Director, Health Care Programs plans and manages the development and delivery of publicly scheduled Healthcare – Continuing Education programs. Responsibilities include expanding program offerings, developing course curriculum, assembling accreditation materials, improving the student learning environment, assisting with policy development, grant writing, marketing, student engagement, and staff supervision and training. This role serves as the academic leader in instruction, assessment, and curriculum for Continuing Education Health Care Programs under the leadership of the Dean of Continuing & Community Education.

Responsibilities

• Assess health care provider and community needs for workforce development programs.
• Consult with advisory committees, health care businesses, and professional organizations to identify education and training needs.
• Analyze labor market information to identify demand occupations and trends in the health care sector for program development.
• Market continuing education workforce development programs to potential students and health care organizations, including local ISDs and dual enrollment programs.
• Create and implement new marketing strategies and make presentations to health care organizations.
• Prepare credentialing documents to comply with licensing and accrediting agencies; maintain required documentation.
• Ensure program compliance with regulatory agency guidelines; develop program policies and procedures.
• Assist with grant writing and provide information for state and financial reporting.
• Provide training and professional development for all Health Care instructors to maintain program integrity.
• Build an environment of commitment and alignment with organizational strategies and goals.
• Approve new instructors for hire.
• Provide leadership and supervision of instructional personnel within the Health Care Programs department.
• Develop program curriculum and create course syllabi for instructor-led and online courses.
• Identify and implement best practices in the field.
• Oversee budgets and assist the Dean in making budget projections for the upcoming academic year.
• Align healthcare programs in accordance with HB8 requirements and serve on the Continuing Education Curriculum Committee.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN).
• Unencumbered Texas Registered Nursing License.

• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals within and outside the department.
• Ability to work cooperatively with college personnel, students, instructors, and staff.
• Significant decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, multi-line phone systems, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in the development of health care training programs.
• Experience in higher education supervising instructors, staff, or students.

Pay

$52,772.00 - $67,285.50 per 12 months.
