About the role

This position, alongside a Store Director (SD), leads a specific store. In partnership with the Store Director, the Assistant Store Director (ASD) is responsible for building and retaining a high-performing and diverse workforce of Sales Leads and team members. The ASD collaborates with the Store Director to communicate, inspire, and lead Event Network’s vision and strategy to the store team and partner’s management team. Together, they lead the store team to meet net income goals, sales goals, per caps, and all Operating and People objectives through execution, coaching, and accountability. The ASD is responsible for overall guest service and merchandise presentation in their respective store, maintaining strong relations with partners, and building relationships throughout the partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Member Results
    • Communicates clear expectations and holds team members and self accountable to all Event Network standards of performance and behavior.
    • Recruits talent and identifies, develops, and leverages existing talent to meet short-term and long-term business objectives.
    • Drives talent development through training and communication to cultivate high team member engagement, learning, and commitment.
    • Maximizes team and individual performance through the Company’s performance management process.
    • Motivates, retains, and stabilizes the team through appropriate reward and recognition in partnership with the SD.
    • Develops exit strategies for team members who do not meet required proficiencies.
    • Recognizes and rewards behaviors aligned with Event Network’s core values.
    • Resolves HR and guest service issues in partnership with the Store Director and HR.
    • Builds strong relationships with team members to align and support store-specific business results.
    • Actively pursues self-development opportunities.
    • Creates a learning environment by modeling Event Network’s core values.
    • Fosters partner and SSC team member relationships to support business initiatives and growth.
  • Business and Financial Results
    • Achieves the store’s sales, per cap, and net income budget.
    • Meets payroll rate, inventory goals, and expense targets.
    • Maintains initiatives within budgeted guidelines.
    • Identifies methods to reduce expenses for maximum sales productivity.
    • Collaborates with the SD to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive store strategies to meet shrink goals.
    • Passes all Loss Prevention audits.
    • Optimizes payroll utilization in collaboration with the SD.
    • Uses reports to analyze business trends and opportunities for effective decision-making.
    • Works the assigned schedule.
  • Management and Operating Results
    • Executes short- and long-term business goals in partnership with the Store Director.
    • Communicates and drives Event Network’s strategic direction.
    • Uses the planning pyramid to coordinate store goals with the team.
    • Trains and ensures a consistent guest experience through friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service using Event Network’s guidelines.
    • Maintains visual presentation directives as communicated by SSC.
    • Identifies, develops, and trains talent to present visually compelling stores consistent with Event Network standards.
    • Champions all Event Network initiatives and ensures sustainability.
    • Responds to all communication in a timely manner.
    • Performs non-revenue-generating tasks such as expense control and loss prevention training.
  • Guest and Partner Results
    • Accountable for overall guest service and ensures all team members exceed Event Network’s Cares standards.
    • Influences store and company growth strategies by sharing partner and market insights with Store Operations and Purchasing Teams.
    • Develops and maintains strong alliances with partners to build long-term relationships.
    • Ensures a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment for guests.
    • Participates in regional philanthropic activities.
