About the Role

Manage the implementation of all property, equipment, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Monitor safety systems and utilities. Responsible for the administration of the department in compliance with all corporate standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests, and employees. Oversee day-to-day operations, recommend and implement procedural changes, monitor and control expenses, and manage Engineering employees.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, schedule, train, develop, coach, and counsel Engineering staff; provide open communication and assist with resolving problems while recommending discipline.
  • Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor service performed to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, and convenience.
  • Test and examine safety systems to ensure 100% operational status at all times to protect the asset, guests, and employees.
  • Monitor utility consumption to determine the effectiveness of current systems.
  • Review purchase requests and monitor expenses to ensure budgeted goals are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare and maintain schedules, logs, records, or other documentation to ensure smooth operation and minimize liabilities.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of BMS/Engineering profession, including management of people and complex problems.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information in a specialized field.
  • Supervisory skills and ability to provide information and services to hotel management and guests.
  • Excellent hearing, vision, speech communication, comprehension, and literacy skills for procedures, reports, instructions, and receipts.

Requirements

  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying weights up to 25 lbs. and greater for hotel equipment and machinery.
  • Frequent bending and/or kneeling for repairs and maintenance of hotel property, equipment, and machinery.
  • Mobility throughout the hotel, including all floors, varying heights, and distances; use of ladders, lifts, and climbing as required.
  • Continuous standing in varying degrees throughout the day.
  • Limited driving on an occasional basis (generally within 20 miles) for supplies and equipment.
  • Two to three full years of full employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
