About the role

This position works as part of the Career Center team, providing career advising to current and alumni learners. They will collaborate with faculty and staff on career presentations and initiatives within their academic areas as well as engage with employers to stay current on hiring trends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide career advising to current students and alumni, with an emphasis on Engineering, Data, Technology, Science and Research based programs and career paths
  • Conduct group and classroom presentations on career relevant topics for current and prospective students and alumni
  • Connect with employers to facilitate learning and recruitment opportunities between employers and students / alumni
  • Affiliate with preparation of career fairs, employer panels and employment workshops / events for students and alumni
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support internship and career development activities
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in training, development, advising, and presenting
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate on cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal, advising and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in employment industry collaboration and event planning
  • Demonstrated understanding of career decision making and development
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in training, development, advising, and presenting

Skills

  • Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional experience working in a STEM related field
  • Experience with OPT/CPT
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver effective presentations
  • Demonstrated understanding of career planning and job search tools such as Handshake

Benefits

Minimum starting salary of $54,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, generous employer retirement contributions, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.
