The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), an NCAA Division I institution and member of the American Athletic Conference, is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. This position will primarily monitor activities in the areas of: 1) recruiting; 2) financial aid; and 3) playing and practice seasons. The Assistant Director-Athletics Compliance monitors activities in recruiting, financial aid and playing and practice seasons within the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Athletics. Responsible for providing rule interpretations, coordinating department use of the compliance functions of the Athletic Records Management System (ARMS), providing rules education via various methods, processing various compliance forms and serving as the primary office liaison to UAB Financial Aid, UAB Housing and ARMS. This position adheres to all institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Salary Range: $43,890 - $46,000 Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration or a related field and one (1) year of NCAA Compliance related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education experience. Preferred: Advanced degree Demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external constituents. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
