About the role
This full-time, on-site position is based at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. The Assistant Director will support the university’s mission by advising the Campus Activities Board, facilitating leadership development, coordinating community service opportunities, collaborating with faculty and staff, and providing high-quality service to students. The role also involves participation in campus initiatives, adherence to university policies and procedures, and contributing to a positive, student-centered environment.

Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to interact effectively with diverse campus and community members
- Organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and consistent follow-through on tasks and projects
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret information, recommend solutions, and make sound decisions aligned with university guidelines
- Collaboration and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, professionalism, and the ability to build positive working relationships across departments
- Technology and office productivity skills, such as proficiency with common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email) and the ability to learn university systems
- Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in higher education, public institutions, or student-facing roles is beneficial
- Demonstrated commitment to student engagement, ethical conduct, and support of the university’s mission and values
