Assistant Dietary Manager

About the role

The Georgia War Veterans Home is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to oversee the food and nutrition services in the Dining Room.

Responsibilities

• Serve food in the dining room as instructed.
• Monitor absenteeism to ensure adequate staffing.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary.
• Follow diet orders and NPO diets.
• Properly store leftovers and open food.
• Offer menu substitutions and record them.
• Comply with infection control policies.
• Recommend equipment and supply needs.
• Schedule department work hours.
• Attend and participate in mandatory training programs.
• Clean kitchen equipment and record temperatures.
• Report accidents and handle emergencies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Food Handler Certification.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Experience in food service.
• Professional demeanor with residents.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Ability to deal tactfully with various individuals.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle residents.
• Ability to seek out new methods and incorporate them into existing practices.
• Not posing a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
