Assistant Designer (Hanky Panky Sleepwear - new brand!)

Job Summary

Dreamwear is seeking a passionate and talented individual to join our Design team as a Sleepwear Design Assistant. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and production of our seasonal and customer-driven lines, particularly focusing on Hanky Panky, an iconic brand known for its blend of comfort and unmistakably feminine design.

About the Role

As a member of the Design team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the senior team with market research, executing technical development packages, and managing production processes. You will also assist with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.

Responsibilities

• Research the market for seasonal trends, colors, prints, and silhouettes to support the senior team.
• Send out tech packs and sample requests, along with production artwork and color standards.
• Create and execute organized and accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
• Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
• Aid designers with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.
• Work with the senior team to ensure artwork is sized correctly and colors are chosen accurately.
• Execute production packages including color and trim specifications and prepare production-ready print and graphic artwork.
• Track and follow up on development and fabric sourcing.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Fashion degree or equivalent work experience required. Internship experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Microsoft Excel.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Candidate must be passionate about fashion and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
