About the role
This fully funded position is centered on academic research leading to a doctoral dissertation in Bovine herd health. At least 50% of your time will be dedicated to this research.
Responsibilities
- Assist in teaching activities, specifically the courses Ruminant veterinary medicine and Herd health.
- Support internal and external services of the department.
- Participate in night and weekend duties at the Ambulatory clinic.
Requirements
- Hold a Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (preferably with a major in Ruminants). The degree must be fulfilled by the start of the appointment.
- For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) is required.
- Demonstrate interest in academic and/or project-based research and services in bovine herd health.
- Teaching experience or participation in extra training and conferences is recommended.
- Possess excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Fluent in Dutch to effectively serve the clinic’s clients.

- Two-year appointment, renewable twice for two years each, contingent on positive evaluations. Maximum term of six years under the Codex of Higher Education.
