Assistant Department Manager (Wood)

About the role

This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company's core values
• Demonstrate safe lifting practices and understand company retail philosophy
• Provide direction and complete certification courses for Product Sales Specialists
• Ensure accurate customer service and merchandise knowledge
• Communicate and validate product placement and pricing
• Greet and assist customers with product questions and selections
• Process refunds and exchanges according to guidelines
• Present 'how-to' classes to customers
• Follow cash, check, and card acceptance procedures
• Stock and tag merchandise displays
• Communicate inventory needs to management
• Direct and assist merchandise processing to the showroom floor
• Validate product placement and pricing
• Answer the telephone according to guidelines

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding and compliance with company safe lifting practices and operating procedures
• Drive and teach company philosophy around retail basics (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing)
• Complete industrial truck proficiency testing and certification
• Follow cash, check, and card acceptance procedures
• Communicate inventory needs to management
• Follow established cash, check, and card acceptance procedures

Pay

Compensation details are subject to change and will be communicated to successful candidates.

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
