Assistant Department Manager (Wood)

About the role

This position trains and develops Product Sales Specialists and ensures customers receive excellent customer service and product information.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company's core values
• Demonstrate safe lifting practices and understand company's retail philosophy
• Provide direction to Product Sales Specialists for high-quality customer service
• Complete certification courses and demonstrate knowledge of merchandise and installation
• Communicate and organize department merchandise and pricing
• Communicate with management about inventory needs
• Direct and assist in merchandise processing to the showroom floor
• Validate product placement and pricing
• Greet and assist customers with product questions and selections
• Process refunds and exchanges
• Present 'how-to' classes to customers
• Follow cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures
• Stock and tag merchandise displays
• Create price tags and merchandise signs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding and compliance with safe lifting practices and company policies
• Knowledge of merchandise and installation
• Ability to communicate and organize department merchandise and pricing
• Ability to follow cash, check, and credit card acceptance procedures
• Ability to stock and tag merchandise displays

Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Working Conditions

• Warehouse environment
• Moderate to noisy noise levels
• Physical demands: ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, use hands and fingers, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl

Physical/Sensory Requirements

• Physical Work: Ability to exert 30 - 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 - 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Sensory Requirements: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
