About the role
The Assistant Criminal Justice Liaison will assist the Criminal Justice Liaison in performing outreach in the state of Florida, completing screening assessments, and making placements for criminally involved persons living with chronic substance abuse problems and mental illness.
Responsibilities
- Serve as back up to the Criminal Justice Liaison in corresponding between WestCare and various criminal justice entities.
- Track and store all required documentation accurately.
- Communicate with staff and clients regarding court hearings and facilitate attendance.
- Ensure required reports are submitted to legal entities.
- Assist clients in addressing legal and child custody needs.
- Develop and maintain a network of transitional housing and recovery-focused programs.
- Complete client admission documentation and maintain client charts.
- Create and maintain a monthly referral and waitlist report.
- Represent WestCare at court and probation hearings as needed.
- Communicate with the Criminal Justice Liaison for timely updates on client information.
- Follow all WestCare policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social work, or related field preferred.
- Ability to handle crisis situations and make independent decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Superior computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Adherence to ethical standards and WestCare’s policies.
