About the role

The Assistant County Engineer is responsible for supporting the County Engineer in managing the engineering division, overseeing projects, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of engineering projects
  • Oversee project budgets and schedules
  • Review and approve engineering plans and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to engineering activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with project management software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Experience with project budgeting and scheduling

Pay

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
