About This Role
We are seeking a reliable Assistant Cook to join our busy kitchen team. You will help prepare fresh ingredients, keep the kitchen clean, and support the head cook during busy service hours.
What You'll Do
- Prep vegetables, fruits, grains, meats and other ingredients safely.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment.
- Wash and sanitize dishes and equipment with a commercial dish washer.
- Clean and sanitize your work food service areas and equipment in accordance with local health codes.
- Restock supplies and help check inventory.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long hours.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to use hands and fingers, handle kitchen equipment and tools.
- Obtain at least 4 hours of training in kitchen sanitation and food handling, nutrition and basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation rules.
- Infant/child CPR, Pediatric First Aid certification.
Nice To Haves
- Valid ServSafe food handler certification.
- Experience working in food service.
- Strong communications skills.
