ASSISTANT CONVENIENCE STORE MANAGER (ALL LOCATIONS)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager with daily deposits, shift changes, staffing, training, vendor coordination, merchandising, maintaining store inventory, and providing customer service.
• Train and develop all new hires.
• Verify cashiers’ daily paperwork to ensure shift balances.
• Make timely bank deposits and ensure accuracy of daily sales reports.
• Provide change for cashiers as needed and ensure open/close of shifts follow policy.
• Maintain inventory control and check vendor deliveries for invoice accuracy.
• Record daily transaction amounts from cash registers to balance drawers.
• Bag merchandise, issue receipts, and redeem promotional coupons.
• Review price sheets for accuracy and changes on gas, deli, beer, liquor, tobacco, and other sale items.
• Enter prices and department codes accurately on registers to ensure correct taxable items and totals.
• Stock and clean shelves, marking prices on items.
• Collect cash, check, or charge payments, make change, and count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Use the register to swipe identification for tobacco, beer, liquor, and lottery ticket sales to verify legal age.
• Promote and ensure customer satisfaction on all purchases.
• Greet all customers as they enter the store.
• Enforce disciplinary actions when needed.
• Perform all C‑store Manager duties in the Manager’s absence.
• Maintain a positive attitude to foster productive teamwork.
• Process fuel fleet transactions (e.g., Comdata, WEX, EFS, Fuelman) correctly.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask.
• Computer and cash‑handling experience required.
• Knowledge of Fleet Cards, Comdata, and SSCS systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team environment, consistently meet deadlines and margins, and train and motivate staff.
• Desire to advance and grow with a rapidly expanding company.
• Ability to obtain any required licenses within a reasonable time frame.
• Must maintain valid State and Parish certifications/licenses at all times (see Certifications and Licenses section).
• Drug‑free environment; background checks required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand during the shift, and occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Certifications and Licenses

• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Alcohol Beverage Ordinance Card (by Parish).
• Louisiana Responsible Vendors Permit.
• Copy of Social Security Card.
