About the role
PennAero is hiring an Assistant Controller at Monogram Aerospace Fastener’s Commerce, CA location. Monogram Aerospace Fasteners specializes in innovative aerospace fasteners and products.
Responsibilities
- Manage, lead, and develop direct reports (Finance team members other than Controller).
- Perform the tasks of the Controller in their absence.
- Business partnering: Present financial information and perspectives to all levels of the organization, including C-suite and Board of Directors. Identify business risk and opportunities with cross-functional teams and develop mitigation plans as necessary.
- Automate standard work processes to reduce administrative burden and risk of error.
- Prepare robust and diligent financial business cases for capital investment proposals.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis that facilitates decision making.
- Lead the annual budget process, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and challenging departments with respect to expense, capital, productivity, and headcount plans.
- Prepare, distribute, and consolidate budget review files in collaboration with departments.
- Loading of financial statements into divisional and corporate consolidation systems.
- Prepare, present, and maintain monthly rolling forecast updates for income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Maintain confidential personnel database to ensure accurate financial forecasting.
- Lead the monthly and quarterly close cycles, supporting the team as necessary to prepare the full set of financial statements and present to the Controller.
- Co-ordinate and prepare the monthly business review package, ensuring accurate information is received timely from other departments and challenging as necessary.
- Compliance: SOX compliance SPA – liaison with internal and external audit and coordinate documentation requests with internal departments. Provide information for local, state, and federal tax requirements, engaging Corporate tax personnel as necessary. Maintain RCM and critical testing documentation to reflect business conditions.
- Ownership of inventory control scope, related entries, and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare work order variance analysis, identify root causes, and take corrective actions. Ensure inventory risk is reviewed monthly and appropriate reserves are made. Prepare annual cost roll data and lead the implementation process. Lead the annual physical inventory process and ensure effective designation of duties across the team, collation of results, and communication of outcome.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business.
- Team leading/supervisory experience.
- 7+ years in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrable cost accounting capability.
- Required to be on-site 5 days per week at the Commerce, CA location.

Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is $145,000-$165,000. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
