About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing Financial Operations practice. As an Assistant Controller at Bridgepoint, you will be a valuable part of our client delivery team, helping growing companies achieve success in a fast-paced environment where you can make an impact.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
- Interact with Bridgepoint Consulting members in Financial Operations and other practice areas to coordinate excellent delivery
- Assist with reconciliations, month-end reporting, preparing clients for audit, cleaning up their books, and assisting their department with integration of merger and acquisition data
- Interact directly with the client contact (CFO, Controller) and their staff
- Provide project status updates, feedback, and thoughtful insights into client challenges for your delivery manager
- Embrace flexibility and take on tasks and assignments that may be out of your comfort zone
Requirements
- 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience
- B.A. or B.S. required; Accounting or Finance degrees are a plus
- Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
- Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance, and Big Four/public accounting is highly preferred
- Experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Recent hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains, or Intacct), along with moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to adapt to various client environments and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
- Demonstration of a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience researching technical GAAP issues
- Past experience working in small to mid-sized company environments with the ability to multi-task and wear several hats
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized accounting firms
- Industry experience in emerging growth, technology, and SaaS companies
- Revenue recognition experience highly preferred

Pay
Competitive salary: $120,000 - $210,000
