Assistant Controller

About the role

Bridgepoint Consulting, an Addison Group Company, is seeking experienced Assistant Controllers to join our growing Houston team. This role supports clients in a wide range of interim and project-based accounting needs. Responsibilities

• Hands-on full-cycle accounting (5–8 years of experience)
• Routine accounting processes: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
• Monthly closing procedures and monthly/quarterly financial reporting
• Preparing and/or reviewing monthly account reconciliations
• Researching and applying U.S. GAAP technical issues
• Adapting to various client environments and communicating effectively at all levels

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent client service
• Hungry, humble, and smart attitude
• Experience in small to mid-sized company environments with the ability to multitask

Qualifications

• Work experience with both public and private companies
• Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, SaaS, or Big Four/public accounting
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains, Intacct)
• Moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or MBA (preferred)
• Prior employment by a Big 4 or nationally recognized accounting firm (preferred)
• Revenue recognition experience (highly preferred)
