About the role
As Assistant Controller, you’ll partner with leadership to strengthen financial operations, improve processes, support a growing team, and build the kind of accounting function that scales alongside the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee reconciled balance sheets
- Guide journal entry preparation
- Support intercompany accounting
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Manage core operational accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, vendor management, corporate card administration, fixed assets, lease accounting, and internal cost allocations
- Coach and support accounting staff
- Foster consistency across processes
- Keep audit readiness top of mind throughout the year
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience within construction
- Prior team leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of construction
- Construction ERP systems exposure
Qualifications
- Strong construction accounting experience
- Solid understanding of accounting compliance
- Experience managing accounting staff
- Navigating the complexities of job costing and WIP reporting

Pay
$100K-$120K with discretionary bonus
Schedule
Onsite at the company’s Portland office to support onboarding, collaboration, and relationship-building. Light WFH flexibilities once settled into the role.
