About the role
Austin Regional Clinic seeks an experienced accountant to manage and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures. The role involves generating GAAP accrual-based financial statements, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company agreements.
Responsibilities
- Timely issuance of accurate and complete financials (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and corresponding consolidation worksheet)
- Monthly consolidation of financial statements
- Preparation of financial statements at specified levels (location, division, cost center, etc.)
- Preparation and issuance of external financial packages in accordance with defined terms and timelines
- Monthly reviews of financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness
- Creation and maintenance of allocations within the Oracle financial system
- Creation and maintenance of allocations within the Oracle financial system
- Coordination of GAAP financial information distribution
- Coordination and/or provision of required information for monthly executive and board reports and presentations
- Monthly analysis of balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flow
- Reconciliation of general ledger control accounts to subsidiary ledgers balances
- Review and approval of journal entries for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and established policies
- Fixed assets management
- Partnerships management
- Management of general ledger accountants and oversight of team activities
- Miscellaneous billings and collections for non-patient-related contracts
- External audit liaison and preparation of tax work papers
- Special projects, workflow process improvements, and special reporting requests
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- At least six (6) years of GAAP financial statement and preparation and reconciliation experience
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience
- Experience with building complex spreadsheets using Excel and Access
- CPA license preferred
- Experience working in a multi-specialty physician practice
- Experience with Oracle financial system
Qualifications
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of consolidation, partnership, healthcare, and real estate accounting
- Advanced Access and Excel skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
