Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries
- Financial reporting
- Account analysis
- Preparation and assistance with various tax returns
- Budgeting and oversight of endowment activity and investments
- Auxiliary functions such as assisting with external audits, budget preparation, and tax filings
- Serving as backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assisting with various purchasing and policy-related matters
- Maintaining departmental budgets and overseeing cash flow analysis
- Completing internal audits as requested
- Overseeing the College’s purchase card program and related expense management platform
- Managing the work of other staff in the Financial Services department
Supervision Received/Supervision Exercised
- Reports to the Controller
- No supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent technology skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of 5 years in accounting or related field
- Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
