Responsibilities
- Maintain and update project schedules and budgets under the supervision of Superintendents.
- Coordinate with subcontractor’s offices to develop recovery plans as needed, and meet regularly with staff and subcontractors to discuss progress, obstacles, and challenges.
- Achieve daily operational objectives, timelines, and goals by coordinating with team members.
- Participate in inspections and examinations of work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
- Read construction documents to determine requirements and plan procedures.
- Record and maintain operational data and produce reports such as personnel logs, production logs, and status updates.
- Make decisions regarding start-up/shutdown issues and instruct crew members accordingly.
- Conduct periodic job site safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure all assigned projects are built to the highest quality standards, according to provided plans and specifications.
- Represent Hoar in job site progress meetings and other meetings as requested or needed.
- Act as the jobsite superintendent in the absence of the regular superintendent.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with customers and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with all parties involved regarding deliveries, job progress, and other relevant matters.
- Coordinate and manage all workforce needed to complete assigned projects.
- Clearly communicate goals and expectations to crew members, including work hours, amount of work to be completed, and schedules.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in construction or a college degree in construction.
- General knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Valid Driver's License.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- Mainly works in an indoor and outdoor setting with exposure to various weather and temperature conditions.
- Requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and field environment.
- Primary functions include walking, standing, sitting for prolonged periods, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and making repetitive hand movements.
- Lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs without assistance and greater than 50 lbs with assistance.
- Operates assigned equipment and vehicles.
- Verbal communication is required to exchange information.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
