About the role

The Assistant Construction Manager, Capital Projects oversees capital project job sites, ensuring compliance with agency, city, and state standards. They collaborate with the Director, Capital Projects, contractors, and stakeholders to manage projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular job site visits to ensure adherence to standards.
• Transition operational projects into capital projects and perform on-site assessments.
• Verify compliance with approved proposals, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain safety procedures and quality control measures.
• Track project progress and prepare comprehensive site visit reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and offer guidance to contractors.
• Implement and uphold best practices in capital project management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer construction management course completion.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in capital project management.
• Field management skills, including Superintendent or Field Project Management responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of agency, city, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Fluent in construction documents and specifications.
• Experience in renovating residential properties with clients in occupancy.
• Proven construction management skills in midrise group homes.

Skills

• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook 365, Excel, and construction estimating software.
• Flexibility to travel within the 5 boroughs of New York City.
