Overview

The Assistant Construction Logistics Manager assists the jobsite team in increasing production levels through thorough organization and planning of materials and supplies, working closely with the Construction Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Logistics team to unload equipment and materials from vendors and suppliers in a safe manner.
  • Ensures the correct staff is available to unload based on the delivery schedule for equipment, pre-fabrication, and materials.
  • Distributes materials and prefabrication to keep field teams productive.
  • Performs the first step in quality control by inspecting materials and equipment to confirm they match what was submitted and are not damaged.
  • Orders, inspects, and tracks tools, preparing and scheduling those that are no longer needed to be shipped back to the Fabrication Shop.
  • Works with the Admin to track rental tools and returns them when no longer needed.
  • Fills fuel cans for the job site and delivers water coolers, ensuring they are cleaned and the date is displayed.
  • Receives material deliveries and checks for accuracy, tracking back-ordered materials for delivery dates.
  • Confers with the Superintendent to determine overdue material and parts and informs them of material status, including backorder items.
  • Examines materials received, verifies materials, and checks for discrepancies between the delivery ticket and the Tool and Material order form. Checks for damaged or unmarked parts.
  • Tags all material going out to the field with Area, Name, and Date, and tags all material not being used as assigned to a Storage Area at the yard to be delivered at a later date and notifies the foreman.
  • Checks all consumable materials daily and keeps adequate stock. Keeps up with empty oxygen and acetylene bottles and schedules bottle refills with the Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Cleans storage areas and keeps materials organized. Returns materials not being used to vendors when appropriate.
  • Prepares and submits an inventory report of items to be returned to the Project Manager first.
  • Checks and verifies rented equipment with the vendor, obtaining a confirmation number. Inspects tools before they go out to the jobsite.
  • Gets a tool report from the Project Manager, sets a monthly date, and holds inventory monthly after normal hours of operation. Checks for out-of-order tools and extension cords. Brings back any damaged tools or extension cords.
  • Sets up a report of inventory and findings to project management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in large-scale logistical management.
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of jobsite operations.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and HVAC material, equipment, and tools.
  • Ability and experience driving a forklift.
  • Knowledge of supply operations, sequence, and flow.
  • High level and consistent organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate with little daily supervision and self-motivated.
  • Ability to oversee large crews, plan their work, and verify tasks are completed within the allotted time.
  • Maintained lay down yard.
  • Understanding and knowledge of materials (cast Iron, PVC, Copper, Pex, and equipment).
  • Timely order pulling and deliveries.
  • Works with a sense of urgency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Pay Range

USD $36.95 - USD $49.31 /Hr.
