Assistant Community Manager

About the role
Performs a variety of administrative duties related to the overall management of the property and assumes supervisory authority when the Community Manager is away. This position is essential to the operation of the community, requiring consistent attendance to ensure proper workflow and communication within the team.
Responsibilities
- Abides by Fair Housing Laws.
- Performs all tasks relating to leasing the property, including showing units to prospective residents, preparing lease packets, running credit reports, and inspecting properties after move-outs and prior to move-ins.
- Actively participates in leasing while striving for quality residency.
- Handles accounting and posting duties for deposits and rent payments.
- Responds to telephone requests from residents and the public.
- Manages payroll administration in alignment with the Payroll Department.
- Tracks traffic through the property.
- Prepares purchase orders.
- Coordinates maintenance requests with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Works on resident retention through positive resident relationships.
- Occasional duties include making bank deposits, attending meetings on behalf of the Community Manager, supervising pool attendants, assisting the Maintenance department with computer equipment, training employees, and preparing reports for the Community Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior supervisory experience in a customer service environment (preferred).
- Current Fair Housing Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License (if operating a vehicle).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced college courses in management, public relations, or accounting.
- At least two years of property management experience in a customer service environment.
Physical Demands
- Typing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, or standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Schedule
Hours worked will coincide with the community’s hours of operation. This position may require weekend work as necessary.
