About the role

The Assistant Community Manager oversees the everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community, working under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing financial processes, personnel, leasing, maintenance, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Post all payments and income accurately, timely, and efficiently.
  • Process and reconcile daily account receivables.
  • Monitor and follow up on bad debts, including preparation of late notices, resident and guarantor contacts, and eviction filings.
  • Help the property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and net operating income.
  • Post all charges to resident and non-resident accounts and bill back utilities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and audit resident files.
  • Walk units and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposit refunds.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff.
  • Ensure staff compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Implement marketing strategies and systems based on the annual marketing plan.
  • Deal with resident complaints, concerns, and requests to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement resident retention programs.
  • Show, lease, and move in prospective residents effectively.
  • Manage customer service and monitor maintenance staff performance.
  • Plan and utilize property resources, equipment, and supplies economically.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions.
  • Regular/daily onsite attendance required.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, moving about, ascending/descending ladders/stairs, and reaching.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

$22 per hour to $25 per hour.
