Assistant Commissioning Project Manager, BESS
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
Review technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to commissioning and assist with the development of a project milestone and deliverables list, project specific commissioning plan, and commissioning procedures.
Communicate with the OEM suppliers regarding equipment specific testing and commissioning activities.

Assist with the development of standards and processes to improve business.
Prepare and maintain Lessons Learned and equipment warranty tracking logs.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Occasional exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, and variable site conditions.
Frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perception.
Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high, exposed, or difficult to access places.
The noise intensity level may be high.
Working on or near lifts and other machines.
Working near medium and high voltage.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge and commissioning of Utility scale solar, battery storage, and high voltage substations.
Knowledge and experience with HV and MV switching operations, and equipment grounding.
Knowledge and experience with the management and application of site lock-out / tag-out (LOTO) safety program procedures.
Knowledge and experience with substation protection and control (P&C) systems.
Knowledgeable in National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code (NFPA/NEC) standards, and IEEE/IES/API Standards.
NETA and IEEE standards related to utility scale solar generation, i.e. Transformers, MV and LV cabling, grounding, and solar specific component testing.
Understands the commercial performance of power plants.
A working knowledge of NERC compliance standards along with ISO and TSO testing and operational requirements is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with DCS / SCADA control systems and methods for utility scale generation a plus.
Knowledge of microprocessor protective relay testing is a plus.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning on utility scale electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
