Assistant Coach, Women’s Tennis
About the Role
This position will assist the Head Coach of the Women’s Tennis program within a Division I athletics program. Responsibilities include assisting with the administration of recruiting, training, practice, fundraising, budget management, and team travel. This is an on-site fixed-term position.
Responsibilities
- Help plan and organize team training and practice sessions.
- Organize and order equipment and clothing.
- Organize books and travel to individual tournaments.
- Assist with recruiting student-athletes to compete at Stanford, following NCAA guidelines and University standards and policies.
- Understand and apply NCAA regulations to all aspects of the program; must pass an annual exam on NCAA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of three years of coaching experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Previous Division I level competition is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with student-athletes, peers, and the general public.
- Computer literacy with common office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of Stanford University, ACC Conference, and NCAA.
- Ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with a variety of staff and personnel in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community.
