About the role
The Assistant Coach I - Women's Soccer is responsible for working with the head coach to oversee practices and scheduled contests, develop a recruitment plan, establish team rules, foster the personal development of student athletes, and manage fundraising activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee practices and scheduled contests to provide a positive and competitive experience for student athletes
- Develop a recruitment plan to identify and enroll student athletes
- Establish team rules and protocols and implement them
- Foster the personal development and competitive spirit of the student athletes
- Empower academic progress and support their educational experience
- Attend recruitment trips to recruit student athletes
- Supervise the team at off-campus competitions and interpret and implement rules and regulations
- Provide recommendations on team line-ups and game strategies
- Represent the university and team at appropriate athletic events
- Oversee fundraising activities for team expenses
- Supervise and develop department staff, providing professional opportunities and managing performance
Requirements
- Minimum of an associate's degree or a combination of education/certification(s) and/or experience suitable for the position
- Moderate experience with athletic coaching, collegiate playing, or related experience
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- First Aid, CPR, AED certification or willingness to attain such certification upon hire
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.
